OTTAWA THERAPY DOGS TO HOST FIRST ANNUAL
SNIFF N’ SEARCH CANINE SCAVENGER HUNT
Ottawa Therapy Dogs is holding its first annual Sniff N’ Search canine scavenger hunt on September 20, 2014 in the Glebe’s Central Park. The event is a ‘must-attend’ on the social calendars of Ottawa dogs.
“This family gathering will bring together dog lovers and their favorite stores as they sniff their way through Central Park and businesses in the Glebe” says Karen Luker, volunteer Event Director for Ottawa Therapy Dogs. Participants will be on the hunt to find Gogo, the “missing” therapy dog. There will be a number of dog-related activities to add to the fun: Bobbing for Bacon, Dog Breed Bingo, a celebrity kissing booth, and much more. To compete in this amazing dog and human race, teams will have to answer a number of dog-themed questions along the way, and be the first to return with a correct slate of responses. Dogs will also have their own work to do!
Some familiar local faces will be on hand to partake in the festivities. Capital Ward City Councilor David Chernushenko will take up judging duties for one of the event’s contests. Rumour has it that Crusoe, the Celebrity Dachshund, may join in on the hunt for his lovely Gogo. With over 70,000 Facebook followers, Crusoe is sure to be a strong competitor.
The event takes place from 12pm – 3pm at Central Park (corner of Bank and Patterson Streets) and costs $30 per dog – owners and canine sidekicks get in for free. All proceeds will go to Ottawa Therapy Dogs. For more information, please visit www.sniffnsearch.ca.
