Thinking of becoming a Pet Nannies client? Curious about what our pet sitting and walking services entail? Check out this list of our most common FAQ!

Will I always have the same pet sitter?

Yes, your pet sitter is always the same sitter that you have the initial consultation with. We do this so that you can build a long term relationship with your sitter. We want you to feel secure in leaving pet in our care. The only time you would have a different sitter is if your sitter is ill. We wouldn’t want to pass any sickness onto your pet! The back up sitter will be trained and aware of all your pet’s needs and preferences. We will always warn you in advance if a back up sitter is coming to your home.

How will I know what took place during my pet’s visits?

We provide e-mail correspondence for pet visits and overnight stays. This way you know what happened during your pet’s visit with one of The Pet Nannies.

Do I meet the sitter/walker before service?

We offer a free consultation for new pet parents, so you can easily meet your Pet Nanny before your first booking. We offer these consultations in order to learn about your pets, fill out paperwork, and collect the keys and/or codes necessary to enter your home for your pet’s visits/walks.

Will you take my dog to the dog park?

In order to maintain the safety of your dog, we only conduct leashed walks.

Will my Pet Sitter administer medication to my dog?

Yes. This can be discussed in detail with your sitter during your meet n’ greet.

How are gratuities handled?

Gratuities are graciously accepted and may be given directly to your pet sitter. If you would like to include a gratuity with your payment for pet sitting services you may and the full gratuity will be given to your sitter.

How do you handle pet accidents and destruction of property?

We will make every attempt to clean up accidents with supplies you have on hand for this purpose. If you have no suitable supplies we will purchase them for you, and add the cost to your final bill. Please be aware that not all accidents can be completely erased, no matter what product is used. If you have a scheduled one/two visits per day scheduled and we routinely find feces or urine at the next scheduled visit, we will begin visiting your pet 2/3 times a day. If this occurs you will be notified and billed accordingly.

What if my return home is delayed?

If we do not hear from you within 6 hours of your scheduled return time, we will assume you are delayed. Your sitter will be instructed to stay on schedule until we have made contact with you. You will be billed for any additional visits.

What if something happens to my sitter?

If your Pet Sitter becomes ill or for an unforeseen reason is unable to walk your dog, a back up walker will be brought in to ensure that your dog is walked and the visit be completed. You will be notified before hand of such changes happening. This is why we require an extra key be kept in our possession at the office in a secure location.

I have a cat, bird, fish and small animal. Are you able to care for them while I’m away as well?

Why not?! You’ll notice that we called this service “pet sitting” not simply dog sitting, and that’s because we know that most of our clients have more than just a dog at home. We can certainly help care for your other pets for an extra fee as long as the requests are reasonable.

Do you have references?

Yes! All you have to do is ask, and we’ll be more than happy to provide you with references from other happy clients and their pets.

Are you insured and bonded?

Yes! All of our dog walkers are insured, bonded, come with a clean background check. We would never send someone into your home that we would not allow into our own. You can trust that our dog walkers are professional and reliable.
